This listing of original sources is invaluable for any scholar doing research about the refugees after Kristallnacht.

Cohen, Prof. Dr. David
Zwervend en dolend
(Haarlem, 1955)
Prof. David Cohen, founder of the “Comite bijzondere Joodse belangen” in 1933, whose main goal it was to help the German refugees, writes down his memoires about his work for the refugees. This book deals only with his work for the refugees, and not with his work as (co-)chairman for the Jewish Council, which he became in 1941.

(Hilversum, 2011)
Hoekema writes about the role of the Protestant church in helping the (mostly protestant) German refugees. One chapter is about the (protestant) children in Fredesheim and Johanneshof.

Schaft, Catharina van der

A short description of the refugee children in the Netherlands.

Wijsmuller-Meijer, Truus
Geen tijd voor tranen
(Amsterdam, 1961)
Often called Wijsmuller-Meijer “biography” this book, which was really written by L.C. Vrooland, tells us in real 50’s style about Wijsmuller-Meijer’s work for the refugee children. It is not very clear, nor very reliable. Wijsmuller-Meijer does deserve a better and real biography. I know that many people would like to read this in English translation, which is not available. I have personally translated the part dealing with the Bodegraven exodus, but the rest not (yet).
